Die One-to-One-Meetings sind das Herzstück der WCA. Netzwerkarbeit pur!
The One-to-One meetings are the heart of the WCA. Pure networking!
THE WORLDWIDE MBS NETWORK
MBS has been part of the organisation
from the very beginning, which today
has over 10,390 member offices in 192
countries around the world, making
it the world's largest and most powerful
network of independent freight
forwarders - the WCA!
In addition to the WCA Global Network,
there are also numerous specialty networks
within the WCA in which MBS is
also represented, for example in the
special e-commerce network for which
experienced and capable members are
specially certified . "For us, this means
that we can respond promptly and easily
to e-commerce and cross-border trading
requests" explains Daniel Steckel,
Managing Director of MBS Speditionsgesellschaft
at the Cologne headquarters.
"For example, the certified members always
have an eye on the current local
conditions such as customs and EuSt regulations
or free trade zones with their
peculiarities and have the necessary
software tools or interfaces to be able
to serve online marketplaces logistically.
Both are indispensable for professional
logistics in the
growth industry
of e-commerce."
The Middle
East regional conference
of WCA
World in Dubai
ended at the end
of February. Over
400 participants
took advantage
of this annual
networking event.
"I attended the
conference in
Dubai this year to
meet long-standing
partners and
exchange views on
issues and also
problems regarding shipments, to meet
potential new partners at strategically
important points, to exchange views
and to examine the possibilities of future
cooperation. " said Oliver Hamacher,
Air Freight Director of MBS Logistics
Cologne, who travelled to Dubai
alongside Johannes Steckel, shareholder
of MBS Speditonsgesellschaft.
"In the one-to-one
meetings, I was
able to have many
conversations with
old and new partners
in a relatively short time and introduce
them to MBS as a reliable partner.
The networking meetings are important
because, despite the possibilities of video
conferencing, it is by far the best
way to maintain and build a good and
long-standing relationship with other
freight forwarders.
Johannes Steckel can no longer count
how many WCA conferences he has already
attended: "We took part in the
founding meeting in Miami. There were
40 people at that time, mostly Americans.
It is unimaginable what has become
of it within 20 years. We were able to
cover many countries with this network
from the beginning. The WCA is certainly
also a secret of MBS' success," says
Johannes Steckel. Steckel even knows
most of the WCA
members personally.
"The WCA,
with its almost
10,000 member
offices, is the basic
prerequisite for us
as local freight forwarders to be able to
take on the big players. We have friends
all over the world and, while the big guys
don't look at many destinations at all,
we deliver goods for our customers through
and with our network to every
remote corner."
What started in the basement of a Miami
hotel has become a success story.
And as always, right in the middle of it:
MBS! ■
